Who bought the former Berkshire Industries building in Westfield?
The Amanti family, owners of Westfield’s Advance Manufacturing Co., bought the former Berkshire Industries building at 109 Apremont Way along with all of Berkshire’s contents for $1.75 million Feb. 16, according to public records. An auction of those contents, including precision machine shop equipment, is set for April 24, 25 and 26, according to an advertisement on the website of DeCosmo Industrial Auctions in Agawam. David Amanti, vice president of Advance Manufacturing, said Wednesday that he’d like to keep the hows and whys of the purchase to himself. “Right now there are no plans,” he said.
