Lt. Gov. joins Western Mass Economics Development Council annual meeting

Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll was in Holyoke Thursday for the Western Mass Economic Development Council’s annual membership meeting.

Senator Gomez was at this meeting along with other local stakeholders to help drive conversations about how to allocate funds and resources to help businesses flourish here in western Massachusetts. Gomez says that right now cities and towns here in the Pioneer Valley are in a great renaissance of economic development so it’s important to advocate and have these conversations to make sure that our voices are heard west of I-495.

“We know that we have the economic bond bill that’s going to be coming in front of the House and the Senate this season. So I think there’s great ideas of how to be able to put this in good use, this bond money, so we can make the system that we’re driving an economic engine,” said Gomez.

Gomez continued saying that he was happy to be apart of the conversation so that they can take the necessary steps forward to ensure that western Massachusetts gets their fair share in this upcoming bond bill.
