Westfield seeks developers for downtown block, once home to J.J. Newberry store destroyed in 1986 fire

Vacant since a devastating fire more than 30 years ago, developers are being sought for a major parcel along Westfield’s Elm Street downtown business corridor. The site includes what was once the location of the J.J. Newberry store that burned in 1986 and was later demolished. It sits next to the John P. Olver intermodal transportation center that opened two years ago.
