Way Finders in Springfield urge funding for western Massachusetts broadband for low-income household

A news conference was held at Way Finders in Springfield to urge the importance of funding the Affordable Connectivity Program. It helps provide families with affordable internet to over 55,000 residents of western Massachusetts in Hampden, Berkshire, Hampshire, and Franklin counties. The Affordable Connectivity Program subsidizes broadband for low-income households and stopped accepting new enrollments on February 7th. The FCC program will run out of funds this April.

The news conference was held at Way Finders in Springfield with representatives from Congressman Neal and Congressman McGovern’s office, community members affected by the end of the ACP, the Alliance for Digital Equity, and the Digital Equity Coalition.
