The town on Wednesday confirmed receipt of a $725,000 Community Development Block Grant. According to Ware Town Manager Stuart Beckley, the bulk of the funds will pay for road work and infrastructure repairs on Spring Street, a 100-yard road located in a section of town the Community Development Authority deemed a ‘slum and blight’ area. One reason selectmen were convinced to approve that designation was because it would increase the town’s eligibility for government grants.
