UMass Aeronautics wins 1st place in design competition in Kansas

The UMass Aeronautics placed 1st in New England during a Design, Build and Fly event last weekend. The team drove over 24 hours to Wichita, Kansas to compete at this year’s Design Build Fly competition

The team spent months designing and building a carbon fiber remote control plane to carry out missions, like taking off and landing with wooden passengers. This is only the second UMass Aeronautics has ever competed in an international competition.
