Town officials happy passenger rail station will get a look as part of Massachusetts east-west rail study

Local officials remain optimistic that a passenger rail station may someday get built in town as part of a potential east-west line connecting Pittsfield to Springfield, Worcester and Boston. Town Manager Charles Blanchard said a station in town would benefit the area, and efforts will continue to be made to demonstrate that to state transportation officials. “We look forward to providing information on how a passenger station in Palmer will benefit the entire region,” Blanchard said Monday in an email statement.
