Statistics show MGM Springfield exceeding goals for local hiring, workforce diversity

MGM Springfield, in its first quarterly report since opening Aug. 24, said Thursday that it is meeting and exceeding its goals for local hiring and workforce diversity related both to its operations and completed construction work. Representatives of MGM Springfield including President Michael Mathis presented the quarterly report during a Massachusetts Gaming Commission meeting at the MassMutual Center on Main Street. As of Oct. 10, covering the most recent quarterly report, hiring of Springfield residents was at 38.4 percent, compared to the goal of 35 percent, Mathis said.
