State MassWorks Infrastructure Program grants announced for Northampton, Turners Falls; money aids Stiebel Eltron expansion in Hatfield
The state announced four economic development grants Tuesday for Western Massachusetts totaling more than $5 million. The MassWorks Infrastructure Program gave the city of Northampton $950,000 to pay for road, sidewalk, water and sewer infrastructure, and shared-use paths in support of the new 53-unit North Commons mixed-income affordable housing project at Village Hill, Mayor David Narkewicz said in a news release. The project is developed by The Community Builders.
