Springfield’s Tower Square Hotel reclaims Marriott name; owners announce more than $10M in renovations
The new owners of Tower Square Hotel announced plans Thursday for an eight-figure renovation and upgrade plan that will result in the downtown stalwart reclaiming its Marriott name and brand identity this fall. The partners also teased other new developments for their Springfield property, including the possibility of the YMCA of Greater Springfield moving at least some of its facilities into the Tower Square Mall and of their plans for a boutique hotel on the Steiger’s Park site they own across Main Street from Tower Square. “Springfield has a chance to grow,” said Dinesh Patel of East Longmeadow, one of the partners. “We want to invest some money and help it grow.”
