Springfield seeks buyer to redevelop 4 tax-foreclosed junkyard properties on Bay, Tapley streets

The two primary sites being offered are abutting properties on Tapley and Bay streets totaling 6.74 acres in the Bay neighborhood. The sites are zoned Industrial A. The two alternate sites, both on Bay Street, have a total area of 7.22 acres, are also zoned Industrial A and are adjacent to the primary sites. Kevin Kennedy, the city’s chief development officer, said Monday the city’s goal is to get the properties back on the tax rolls for some beneficial reuse.
