Springfield’s CRRC begins testing Orange Line cars for Boston’s MBTA (photos, video)
Keep craning your neck as you zip along Interstate 291 past the mammoth CRRC MA Corp. plant. You’ll probably see that subway car you’ve been waiting for. CRRC started running new subway cars — Orange Line cars it’s building for the MBTA — on its 2,200-foot test track during the week of Nov. 13. Each new car costs $2.43 million.
