The city was recently awarded a $1.5 million Greening the Gateway Cities Program grant for the planting of 2,400 trees in the McKnight, Old Hill, and Upper Hill neighborhoods, city officials said. The grant was awarded by the state Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs through funding from the Department of Energy Resources.
