Springfield non-profits aiding in coronavirus pandemic receive $240,000 in grants

A total of 14 non-profit agencies which have been aiding residents and organizations struggling because of the coronavirus pandemic were awarded a collective $240,000 in local grants on Monday. The city’s Prime the Pump program began in March and initially assisted owners of restaurants and other small businesses forced to close or who lost a large amount of business due to the shutdown caused by the pandemic, Mayor Domenic J. Sarno said.
