Springfield gets $300K from casino fund to upgrade CityStage as new home of Focus Springfield TV
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has awarded $300,000 in casino impact money to help convert part of the CityStage performing arts venue into a new home for Focus Springfield Community Television. Focus Springfield opened its current home at the corner of Main and State streets in 2014 following a $1 million renovation. But that historic building is now part of MGM Springfield’s $960 million resort casino complex. MGM has given Focus multiple extensions and now wants it out at the end of September.
