Springfield City Council approves weekend vendors’ market in closed Macy’s at Eastfield Mall

The City Council on Monday approved a special permit for a “weekend market” featuring multiple vendors at the Eastfield Mall on Boston Road. The market is scheduled to open April 7 in the former Macy’s building. Bill Bullock, owner of Bulldog Enterprises, said he will lease space to dozens of vendors and small businesses. He said he expects many goods and products for sale including antiques, collectibles, furniture and small appliances. In early January, when the plans were first unveiled, Bullock said he would not call it a flea market, expecting it to be more upscale.
