SilverBrick buys former YMCA building in Springfield
The SilverBrick Group has purchased the former Springfield YMCA at 122 Chestnut St. for $4.8 million, according to documents filed at the Hampden Registry of Deeds Dec. 29. Aaron J. Papowitz, SiverBrick’s founder and managing principal, confirmed the sale Monday but didn’t go into detail about the company’s plans for the building, which currently houses 99 apartments.
