Samuel’s Tap & Table, closed amid coronavirus pandemic, will not reopen at Springfield’s Basketball Hall of Fame
The owner of Samuel’s Tap & Table said Wednesday the venue at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is permanently closed, citing factors that include the coronavirus pandemic as well as prior harm to the bar’s reputation and loss of patrons.“We won’t be reopening,” said owner Eddie Grimaldi. “It’s bittersweet because Sam’s was like one of my own children. Seeing it shuttered is very upsetting but at the same time, when i think of all the nonsense I don’t have to deal with any more, it calibrates that grief.”
