Rosie Robotics of Agawam Fundraiser
On October 9 from 6-9 pm at Agawam Axe House, we will be holding a fundraiser for Rosie Robotics of Agawam in the form of Axe Throwing! If you haven’t had the pleasure of throwing axes, it is a lot of fun and a great stress reliever! Rosie Robotics has gotten Mayor Sapelli of Agawam, Mayor Reichelt of West Springfield and The Agawam Axe House Summer League Champ Brandon Simmons all to participate as the “celebrities.” Plus some surprise throwers from what they have told me.
ROSIE (Recognizing Outstanding Science Inspired Education) Robotics is part of the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) community and competes in The FIRST Robotics Competition.
Rosie Robotics works to teach science, technology, engineering and math to anyone willing to learn. They also work to spread the FIRST idea of gracious professionalism. The belief is that it’s fun to win, but you can always take a minute out of your time to help and be kind to a fellow teammate or any other team.
The event itself is free to come to. If you would like to compete, $5 for one “Celebrity” or $25 to go against all of the “Celebrities,” paid at the door right to ROSIE Robotics. 100% of this event will go directly to benefit the program. If you are able to join us, we have an Eventbrite set up just so we can give ROSIE a relatively accurate head count. They are still accepting sponsors, and if interested, please feel free to reach out to me for more details!
