Regional healthcare apprenticeship receives funding in Springfield

Workforce development grants announced Monday that they are looking towards expanding apprenticeship opportunities across the state. The Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD) announced $5 million in Apprenticeship Expansion and Opportunity Grants. The grants went to 25 organizations around the Commonwealth, which will grow new apprenticeships by 1,000 positions.

The grants use $2.4 million in state funding, with the rest coming from federal funding. It will be used to train individuals as apprentices in industries like healthcare, manufacturing, clean emergency, early education, and more, according to a news release sent out by the EOLWD.
