Putnam teen creates winning name, logo for new Springfield Schools culinary program…
It was a little chili pepper in the logo of a national chain restaurant that gave Putnam Vocational-Technical Academy junior TaMya Romero her brilliant idea. A $1,000 idea. Romero was the winner of a contest between her fellow design and visual arts students at Putnam to come up with a new name and logo for an innovative culinary and nutrition program being started at the Springfield Public Schools. Her winning design was unveiled during a short program at the school attended by design students, staff, administration, and executives from Sodexo, the food contractor for the school system.
