The letter, sent by President Mark Fulco to staff on Wednesday, said the coming changes were necessary to allow the hospital to continue its mission. ‘The decision to make these changes has been difficult and the subject of a thorough discernment process. We deeply regret that the reduction of positions is necessary,’ Fulco wrote. ‘We are grateful to all of our colleagues who provide a healing touch as a reflection of their commitment to Mercy’s Mission and Values.’
