Planned East Forest Park library in Springfield gets boost from MassMutual Foundation

The soon-to-be-constructed East Forest Park Library got a $250,000 boost Thursday from a MassMutual Foundation pledge toward the $2 million Promise Realized Capital Campaign to help build and equip the new branch. In September, the City Council voted unanimously to authorize a $9.5 million bond order for the library project. That cost will be partially reimbursed by a recently announced $4.9 million grant from the state Board of Library Commissioners.
