But a walk around the 14.5 acre campus reveals a transformed section of downtown that has risen from a landscape left tattered by a 2011 tornado. ‘I’m incredibly excited for 2018,’ said MGM Springfield President Michael Mathis. ‘We feel like this is Springfield’s year to shine.’
