MGM Springfield closes Starbucks, plans VIP lounge in space

MGM Springfield closed the Starbucks location in its hotel lobby Thursday to make way for a new VIP lounge. MGM workers who’d been assigned to the Starbucks now work elsewhere in the casino, said Saverio Mancini, director of communications for the $1 billion resort that opened less than 11 months ago. Options for casino visitors in need of a caffeine fix include the Gelato & Espresso in the South End Market food court, Mancini said.
