MBTA warns of 15-month delay for Springfield-built CRRC Orange Line cars
CRRC subway cars for the MBTA Orange Line and Red Line will be delayed by at least a year, T officials announced Monday. CRRC, which employs 177 union production workers at its sprawling plant in East Springfield, pinned blame for the delays on the coronavirus pandemic. Spokeswoman Lydia Rivera cited changes to technical specifications and workforce challenges.
