Massachusetts Department of Transportation to reveal data on potential MassPike exit between Westfield and the Berkshires
Massachusetts Department of Transportation planners investigating the feasibility of a new MassPike exit between Westfield and Lee are looking at the demographics and travel patterns of hilltown residents as a conceptual study moves forward. Cassandra Gascon, project manager for the study, said the working group for the project will meet again in January or early February. At that meeting, MassDOT will likely reveal the traffic and population data it has gathered so local officials can comment. The goal is to decide exactly where the new exit should go and to build a case to obtain funding for a construction project that as yet doesn’t have a price tag.
