Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito, mountaineer help celebrate ‘Women of Impact’
Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito helped BusinessWest magazine and mountaineer Lei Wang — the first Chinese woman and the first Asian-American to complete the Explorers Grand Slam — to celebrate seven “Women of Impact” Thursday. Polito took the occasion to highlight her continued work on issues of women’s economic and physical security. Look for a major public awareness campaign in the new year aimed at combating domestic violence. It’ll be the first time in decades the state will have done a similar education campaign in the media.
