Low-interest loans assisted two new downtown restaurants; Springfield seeks more applicants

City officials say they are pleased a low-interest federal loan program has helped bring two new restaurants to the downtown in the past year. They hope more businesses will apply, but advise them to bring patience to the table. The city began accepting applications for the $1.5 million Downtown Dining District Loan Fund in February of 2017. The program is intended to expand and enhance the downtown dining experience.
