With his father, Ted Eayrs, lifting ever so gently with a razor blade, Walter Eayrs slid the thin tube of a glue syringe behind the sagging wallpaper of the Brewer-Young mansion. This Zuber wallpaper — similar to what’s hanging in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House — has decorated the grand front hallway and staircase since soon after the 734 Longmeadow St. mansion was built in 1885.
