Kenefick Park located in Springfield’s Brightwood neighborhood will get a new playground, picnic tables, landscaping and a renovated splash pad due to various grants and $150,000 in funding from the city. The largest grant of $400,000 comes from the state’s Parkland Acquisitions and Renovations for Communities (PARC) grant program, another $250,000 is coming from a Community Development Block Grant and $1,500 from Golden Years Home Care Services based in Longmeadow.
