Howdy Awards honor 11 for hospitality excellence in Pioneer Valley

The Greater Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau honored 11 front-line hospitality workers for excellence Monday night at the 23rd annual Howdy Awards. The Howdys are meant to recognize the folks that make a visitor’s stay in the Pioneer Valley special. Maybe it’s the first person you see, like a desk clerk or a restaurant greeter. Jim Syner, mascot for the Springfield Thunderbirds, was one of the 11 honorees Monday night, as was the St. Patrick’s Committee of Holyoke, previously announced winner of the 2018 Howdy Spotlight award.
