Holyoke’s ‘Prudential’ building, among tallest in Paper City, up for foreclosure auction

The Prew Building at 274-276 High St. — also known as the Prudential because it’s one of the tallest buildings in Paper City — will be sold at auction at 2 p.m. Sept. 26 following foreclosure proceedings. At eight stories, the 29,000-square-foot building isn’t the tallest in Holyoke, but it is the tallest in the immediate downtown. Plans prepared in 2014 and posted to he city’s Holyoke Redevelopment website pegged the cost of rehabbing the building into mixed-use retail, office and housing space at $5.6 million to $6 million.
