Healey appoints director to West-East Rail project

Andy Koziol has more than 15 years of experience in transportation planning, including for passenger rail stations, according to MassDOT.

The Healey-Driscoll Administration has appointed a director to the West-East Rail project that would extend passenger rail service from Boston to Worcester, Springfield and Pittsfield. Governor Healey, Lt. Governor Driscoll and Transportation Secretary Monica Tibbits-Nutt have appointed Andy Koziol as Director of the West-East Rail. Koziol will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of ongoing and future projects that will support the passenger rail program, also known as Compass Rail. The director position was created through Healey’s first budget which secured funding for more staff on the project.
