Harley-Davidson of Southampton dealership closing; once sold 600 motorcycles a year
Harley-Davidson of Southampton, the Pioneer Valley’s lone remaining Harley dealer, is closing Sept. 15 after having been in business since 2007. Harley — known for the throaty roar of its exhaust and outlaw image — has been having a tough time as a brand, with sales of its motorcycles down 22% in the United States during the most recent quarter. That’s partially due to the coronavirus pandemic.
