Hadley property, once considered for homes and a solar farm, preserved as open space

In 2016, Eversource was looking to sell 31 acres of land to a developer for a possible 14-unit subdivision, but now that same land on South Maple Street and Moody Bridge Road will be forever protected. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge with $680,000 coming from the state Land and Water Conservation Fund. The full price of the deal was not disclosed.
