Greenfield receives grant to make sidewalks ADA-compliant

The town of Greenfield will receive a total of $199,064 from the Massachusetts Office on Disability to improve sidewalks and make them more compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The money will be used to replace the sidewalks along Beacon Street, and install ADA-compliant detectable warning plates at two intersections in the city: Two curb ramps on Beacon Street at North Street and eight curb ramps on Beacon Street at High Street. The city is hoping to begin construction this summer.
