Former Belcher School in Chicopee to be converted to 25 apartments
The old Belcher School is expected to get a new use as a housing complex after sitting vacant for more than five years. The Valley Opportunity Council is acquiring the former elementary school, located at the corner of Southwick and East streets, and plans to convert it to about 25 new apartments, 22 of which will be set aside as affordable housing.
