Downtown Springfield Farmers Market NOW at Court Square on Fridays – Opening Day May 17th!
From the rural farm to your urban table, the Downtown Springfield Farmers Market is gearing up for their best season yet, and it’s at a great NEW LOCATION! Kicking off THIS FRIDAY, May 17th, the market is being held in beautiful Court Square in downtown Springfield, which will be able to accommodate the growth in vendors for this popular market. The market runs every Friday from May 17 – September 27 from 11am – 3pm.
This year the market will feature most of last year’s favorite vendors as well as some great new vendors, who will add a whole new level of variety for patrons. Some exciting new products to look for include smoked cheeses from VT, maple syrup, farm fresh pork, chicken, eggs, and hand-fed beef and bison. This year the South End Specialties tent will feature a different South End food business each week. There will also be homemade pies and other sweets as well as home-baked artisanal breads, home-canned jams, jellies & relishes, delicious hot fresh buttered popcorn, juices, and of course herbs, sprouts, flowers and locally grown produce.
Throughout the season the Springfield Business Improvement District, which produces the farmers market, will be hosting special themed events, including cooking demos, live music and give aways.
Opening day this Friday will feature acoustic guitar and vocal stylings of Merrill Shepard. Vendors this week include:
Aaron Walker Farm (plants, herbs, hanging flowers) Pitchfork Farm (eggs, pork, bison)
Angel’s Produce (Hispanic specialty produce) Scents By Nancy (soy candles)
