Deteriorated building across from MGM Springfield to be demolished; owner renews plans for Hilton Hotel
The owner of a deteriorated Park Street building in the South End — which was branded a safety hazard by city officials — said Thursday it will be demolished in the coming weeks under the terms of a court agreement. Louis Masaschi of JLL Realty Development in Longmeadow said that demolition will take place in the next 30 to 45 days, “if not sooner.” It will allow him to proceed, he said, with a long-planned 100-room Hilton Hotel on the site, across the street from MGM Springfield.
