CTrail ridership in Springfield totals 11K after first year; Union Station welcomed 2.5 million passengers
Ridership on CTrail’s Hartford Line trains to and from Springfield has hovered just above 1,000 passengers a month according to Union Station visitor numbers provided by the Springfield Redevelopment Authority. Through its first 11 full months of operation, July 2018 through May 2019, CTrail trains have carried 11,570 people to and from Union Station in Springfield. The CTrail Hartford Line commuter rail service began operating out of the renovated terminal in June 2018.
