Coronavirus: Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno pledges to help local businesses ‘as much as possible’ in response to Councilor Tracye Whitfield’s appeal for more aid
Mayor Domenic J. Sarno said Wednesday the city will do “as much as possible” to help local businesses harmed by the coronavirus, with the vow coming after a city councilor’s request for more aid. Councilor Tracye Whitfield praised the city’s efforts on business aid to date, but said more is needed. Whitfield asked that aid be expanded to businesses that are defined as “nonessential” by the state and are shut down.
