Construction hums along in downtown Springfield, ranging from Riverfront Park to Stearns…
City officials said a $2.5 million renovation project now underway at Riverfront Park is one prime example of a series of public projects in the downtown area slated for completion by late fall. The Riverfront Park project began in mid-April and is slated for completion in November, said Peter Garvey, the city’s director of capital asset construction. Other projects in the area include renovations at Stearns Square and Duryea Way, Pynchon Plaza renovations, a new police substation on Dwight Street, exterior renovations at City Hall, and exterior renovations at the Central Library on State Street, officials said.
