Connecticut River cleanup effort turns 25; environment secretary Matt Beaton to speak in…
The Connecticut River Cleanup Committee is still hard at work, and on April 11, the group will celebrate “25 years of collaboration across local boundaries to protect our valley’s most beloved waterway.” Massachusetts energy and environment secretary Matthew Beaton will be the keynote speaker at the breakfast event, to be held at the Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club in Springfield. The Connecticut River flows through more than 400 miles through four New England states to Long Island Sound. The iconic river is now significantly cleaner than it was decades ago.
