Blandford Club’s new owners, golf industry hope to follow Tiger Woods on the comeback

The Blandford Club, a 110-year-old golf course on a Berkshires hilltop with views of Pioneer Valley below, might not have opened for golf this spring. The 56 acres of land would be sold, the club’s dwindling core group of member feared, and its rolling fairways would be turned into a housing subdivision. But that didn’t happen. Instead, a group of longtime members headed by Mark Amanti, owner of Advance Manufacturing in Westfield, bought the club and assumed its debts. The newly renamed Blandford Country Club is preparing to open around May 1.
