It is a particularly dynamic time in higher education. Unemployment is low and northeast high school graduating classes are shrinking. Technology also continues to dramatically change businesses and industries, along with the careers that follow. For many colleges and universities, economic conditions and enrollment declines, combined with technology disruption, has meant smaller budgets and difficult decisions. That is certainly true at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) where budgets are now tighter, and the number of employees is smaller.
