Amtrak announces Valley Flyer schedule of trains in Springfield, Holyoke, Northampton, Greenfield,
Travelers, starting Aug. 30, will be able to leave Greenfield, Holyoke or Northampton on the morning train, spend most of the business day in New York City and return that very night realizing the long-held dream of local rail transit advocates.According to the first timetables for Amtrak’s Valley Flyer Service released Friday by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, the early Amtrak train leaves Greenfield at 5:45 a.m., Northampton at 6:10 a.m., Holyoke at 6:25 a.m. only to arrive at Springfield at 6:53 a.m. and depart at 7:05 a.m.
