Amherst developer proposes 62-unit apartment complex

The Planning Board will hold a public hearing on July 24 on a proposal to build a 62-unit apartment complex at 133-143 South East St. In a letter to Amherst Town Council, Town Manager Paul Bockelman wrote that the property owners applied to the board for site plan approval. “The proposal calls for 62 apartments, 68 parking spaces, and some retail space on the ground floor. There would need to be some improvements to town right-of-way, which will need to be reviewed and approved by Town Council,” Bockelman wrote to the Council on June 30.
