12 years in the making, Holiday Inn Express opens at Epiphany Tower in downtown Springfield
The long wait is over as a new Holiday Inn Express opened this week at the former Epiphany Tower on lower State Street as MGM Springfield was announcing an early opening date a block away. “This has been a pleasure that we are open finally on April 24, which was a very exciting day for us because it has been long-awaited for us as it was for the city of Springfield,” said Sarabjit Kandhari, general manager of the downtown hotel. The public reception to the opening of the 98-room hotel has been positive, with a few weekends in May already sold out with graduations coming up, Kandhari said.
