Massachusetts new claims for unemployment drop slightly
Slightly fewer Massachusetts residents are filing new claims for unemployment insurance, according to statistics released Thursday by the federal government. There were 29,167 new claims for unemployment compensation filed in the week ending June 27, according to the Department of Labor. That’s down 838 claims from 30,005 claims filed the week prior. The numbers from the week of June 20 have been revised upward, according to the Labor Department.
